Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

1. What this policy covers

This Acceptable Use Policy sets the rules for what content and conduct are and are not permitted on Folo. It governs everything you upload, generate, send, sell, buy, stream, link to, or otherwise make available on Folo, including in chat, in the vault, in AI-generated media, in profiles and in messages. It is incorporated into, and forms part of, our Terms of Service; where this policy and the Terms differ on what is permitted, the stricter rule applies.

2. Eligibility and account integrity

You must be at least 18 years old to use Folo. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current, and must not impersonate any person, create an account on behalf of someone barred from the Service, or use bots or automated means to create accounts outside our published APIs.

Each creator account must correspond to a real, identifiable adult who has completed the identity verification we require. Content depicting a creator must be of that verified creator, or of other separately verified, consenting adults.

3. Identity verification, age assurance, and the SFW/NSFW boundary

Folo's public, signed-out surfaces are safe-for-work only and carry no adult signalling. Adult (NSFW) content may be created, published, sold or sent only by creators who have completed the identity and age verification we require, and may be viewed only by fans who have passed age assurance. You must not attempt to defeat, spoof, or share the result of age assurance, or help anyone bypass it.

4. Hard prohibitions

The following are absolutely prohibited, with no warning: content that sexualises, depicts or appears to depict a minor in any way, including AI-generated or drawn depictions; non-consensual intimate imagery of any person, including threats to share it; sexual or intimate deepfakes, face-swaps or likeness transfers of a real person made without that person's consent; sex trafficking or unlawful commercial sexual services; non-consensual sexual content presented as real; bestiality, incest involving real family members, and necrophilia; real gore, snuff content, or content glorifying serious harm to real people; terrorist or violent-extremist content; illegal drugs, weapons or other regulated goods; and fraud, scams or money laundering.

Violations result in immediate removal, account termination, preservation of evidence and, where the law requires it, a report to the relevant authorities, including a mandatory report to the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) for any US-nexus child-safety matter. There is no counter-notice, appeal, or good-faith-mistake path for this category.

5. AI-generated media (likeness, consent, and labelling)

You may direct AI to generate a real person's likeness only where that person is you, as a verified creator, or where that person has given verified, specific, revocable consent to both the creation and the sharing of that AI media. This applies to SFW and NSFW content alike; there is no exception for using someone else's likeness without consent just because the output is not explicit.

AI-generated content is labelled as such where required and may carry visible or invisible watermarks and provenance metadata. You must not remove, alter or obscure these labels or metadata, and must not attempt to extract, copy or reconstruct any underlying AI, voice or likeness model from outputs or the Service.

6. Conduct, fair play and reporting

You must not send spam, manipulate engagement metrics, scrape or bulk-extract content or data, resell or leak paid content, or engage in payment abuse such as fraudulent chargebacks or stolen-instrument use. Content and conduct that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights is handled under our Copyright & DMCA Policy.

Anyone can report content or conduct that may breach this policy using the in-product Report action. A non-consensual intimate image, or a sexual deepfake, of yourself or someone you are authorised to act for can be reported the same way; we prioritise this category and target review and removal within 48 hours of a valid report. Child-safety reports are escalated immediately.

7. Enforcement

For most breaches we act proportionately: a warning, a content action (remove, hide, age-gate or restrict), a feature restriction, a temporary suspension, a hold on funds, or termination, considering severity, intent, harm and your history. We skip straight to removal, termination and reporting, with no warning, for the hard prohibitions in Section 4 and for unlawful conduct. Where it is lawful and safe to do so, we will tell you what action we took and offer a way to request review.

Accounts that accumulate repeated valid violations, including valid copyright infringements, are terminated under our repeat-infringer policy. We have not published a fixed strike count; we apply this on a reasonably-implemented, case-by-case basis.

8. Contact

To report a violation, use the in-product Report action, or email support@folo.co.
